Phreaking - Or Dial-Through fraud is very big business and a target for organised criminals. If your phone system is attacked, You will be left with a huge phone bill from the volume of illegal calls these telecommunications bandits generate, the size of which would be enough to bankrupt many organisations.

Phreakers usually strike after hours, at the weekend or on public holidays when detection is least likely but your telecommunications carrier will still expect you to pay for all the illegal calls routed through your phone system.

Orbex are working with Callista to provide a solution to this threat which is called "Control Phreak" and this application sits on the users network to monitor and restrict illegal call traffic. This software is currently compatible with Siemens Hipath, Panasonic and Samsung systems but plans are in place to integrate with other manufacturers.
